Did you know that tulips are one of the most popular spring flower, and the third most popular flower world wide. The rose and chrysanthemum are ahead of the tulip in overall popularity.

Tulips come in over 3,000 registered cultivated varieties, and there are around 100 species of tulip.

Tulips are a symbol of dreaminess, a declaration of love, the perfect lover, and imagination.

The majority of tulips are grown and cultivated in Holland.

There are three different classifications of tulip; early flowering, mid season flowering, and late flowering.

Early flowering tulips bloom in March and early April. Some early flowering tulip species are Kaufmanniana (eg., Waterlily), Fosteriana (eg.,Red Emperor), Single Early(eg., Apricot Beauty ), Double Early, and Greigii Tulips.

Mid season flowering tulips bloom in April and early May. Some examples of mid season flowering tulips are Triumph, Swan Wings Tulip, Darwin Hybrids, and Parrot Tulips.

Late flowering tulips bloom in May. Examples of late flowering tulips are Single Late, Double Late, Viridiflora Tulips, Lily-Flowered, Fringed Tulips, Rembrandt Tulips, Multi Flowering Tulips.
