The Christmas Table

As we approach the Christmas holiday, we start to think of how we are going to decorate the Christmas table for our holiday meal.

Well, as with all decorating, we have a lot of options.

A simple option is to use a nice glass or crystal bowl, toss in some pretty bulbs or round glitter ornaments, and voila! You have a pretty, festive centerpiece that was simple to create. Place a few candles, appropriately sized, around the bowl to add more sparkle.

To tie the rest of the table in with the bulb centerpiece, place a festive ribbon around the fabric napkins, and add two tiny bulbs to the end of the ribbon.

One could take the bulb theme a bit farther, and use bulbs or ornaments with flat bases as place holders. If you do not need place holders, you could also use the bulbs as a small gift. Place the bulb next to each plate. If used as a gift, add a family photo or gift card to the top where the placecard typically would be.

As always, get creative and have fun with it!

Trimming the Tree

The Christmas tree is the focal point for most of our holiday decorations, that is why some of us pour over ideas on how to trim the tree to make it perfect.

Fortunately, for those of us looking for new ideas, there are always new ones out there! From magazine racks to department stores, we can gather inspiration on how we might trim our tree for Christmas.

One of our favorite ways to trim a tree is to add silk flowers. You can use floral picks, or full floral stems to create a beautiful display throughout the tree. We like to use single stemmed poinsettias in multiple colors scattered throughout the tree. The flowers add a softer touch to the pine tree, and also will compliment your ornaments nicely.

If you are not fond of poinsettias, try roses, hydrangeas, or berry sprays.

Anything can be incorporated into your Christmas tree as long as it matches well with the ornaments, garland, and your other decorations.

As with most home decorating, trimming the Christmas tree requires nothing more than a personal touch.

Have fun with it, and if you need silk flowers for your tree or your home, contact us at C S Flowers.
